Windows 10: Unable to get headset microphone to work despite the headphones working

I am using a headset with a built in microphone. I am running Windows 10. When I plug in the headset to the front audio jack, I use Dell Audio Manager via RealTek to select "headset w/ microphone". I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall all audio and speaker drivers. I have playback set as realtek speakers/headphones for default and for Recording I have Jack Mic realtek audio set as default. I have allowed all apps to access the microphone via privacy. The only issue is that when I test the microphone, after setting all of the sliders to 100 and boosting mic audio by 30dB, the microphone

Turtle Beach headset working either as headphones or microphone.

Hi everyone,
I'm having a slight issue with my turtle beach xo four stealths on my new pc. Before on my laptop, I simply plugged the 3.5mm jack into the headphone port and they acted as both headphones and windows recognized them as an input device also. However now on my new pc build, I have a headphone and a microphone jack and they work separate from each other. This is a pain as I'm trying to stream with OBS and I can either have a mic or my headphones not both like I used to have. Also on a side note, when I plug the headphones into the microphone jack the sound is super quiet with loads of background noise. These are designed for an Xbox one controller and work flawlessly on Xbox with clear sound etc but on the new pc, they are awful!

Edit: Just found that whenever I plug the headset in as a mic or any earphones or headset windows thinks the earpiece or speakers are the microphones which accounts for the bad audio quality. Now is the question of why in hell does windows think the speakers are microphones

Microphone & Headset not working

I was trying to overclock my processor and went a little too far and got a BSOD during Prime 95, I put settings back to they were that I know work, and when I got back into Windows 7 64-Bit everything was fine except my headphones and microphone were not working. They are separate things, not a mic-headset. The headphones are working fine with other music devices, I'm not sure what's wrong but it's frustrating since I go on skype a lot. I'm in the Recording tab in the Sound control panel and there is no noise being detected by the microphone. I've tried reinstalling the sound drivers but that didn't help. Any other ideas?

This is all i know btw when i click headphone it says mic is unplugged and when i do Mic in it says speakers are unplugged and mic is on.
