    Unable to initiate scanning from a multifunction Brother printer/scanner to a Windows 11 laptop


    I have an Acer Laptop with Windows 11 Home 24H2 and a Brother DCP-L8410CDW multifunction printer.I just discovered that I'm not able to initiate the scanning from the printer/scanner anymore, only from the scanning software on the laptop.The laptop is selectable on the printer UI for scanning but nothing happens when I press scan, i.e. it just waits for a while and then it returns to main menu without any error message. I've temporarily disabled Norton Smart Firewall just to make sure it isn't related to that but it still doesn't work and this was not any issue before.I've also uninstalled a

    What is the make and model of the brother printer/scanner?

    Please try the steps recommended below to uninstall printer software

    Press Windows key + X, click Apps & Features or Programs and Features

    Select your Brother printer.

    Select Uninstall.

    Press Windows key + R, type control, hit Enter

    Open Devices and Printers.

    In the Devices and Printers window look for your Brother Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

    Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

    Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

    Click on Drivers tab.

    Look for Brother Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

    Select OK.

    Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

    Close Devices and Printers.

    Proceed to reinstall the driver.

    scanning from brother printer/scanner to new laptop

    I have a new laptop and although I can print from my brother printer/scanner I cannot scan it doesn't connect to the laptop. I didn't have a problem with my old laptop

    Scanner twin drive has stopped working, windows 8 with brother multifunction MFCL5800DW

    Scanner will not work. Message says twain drive has stopped working. Windows * on Dell XPS 8700 computer with Brother MFCL5800DW multifunction printer/scanner. I've tried working with the Brother support staff. Still not working.
