    Unable to insert photo in Word doc


    Hello, I recently installed Word 2024 for personal use non-subscription on my 2024 Macbook Pro running Sequoia 15.0 and I am unable to insert photos/images into Word documents. On my previous version I was able to drag and drop into a doc. I've tried that as well as the Insert tab. I have tried changing the file type, but still no luck. Do you have suggestions? Thank you in advance for your input.

    Word docs

    many thanks for responding and trying to help me. the problem is that all of the docs in various folders that were word docs are no longer word docs - they only open on wordpad (and so parts of the docs cannot be seen). does anyone know why that would
    happen?

    I actually don't know if I have a current subscription to office.

    If you right click on one of the doc files & choose open with is Word listed?

    Do you have a current subscription to Office?

    I'm suddenly unable to open pdf or word docs that are posted on a website that I access regularly. No error message. Just clocking and then a blank screen?
