Windows 10: Unable to install dymo USB printer on windows 10.

Good day all


I am trying to install a dymo lablewriter 450 on my surface pro x running windows 10. The software installs, however the printer is not visible. I have tried to add it manually using the standard windows process Add printer, the printer is not visible


I have also tried to add it using the "my printer is not showing". I select "Add a local or network printer with manual settings". I click next. I then select "Use an existing port : USB001 Virtual printer port for USB. NEXT. On the Wizard, i expect to see DYMO in the left column, but it is not there. I then decided to try Windows Update. I am up to date. I selected HAVE DISK. In the Copy manufactures Files from "C:\Program Files x86\DYMO\DYMO Connect\Drivers\DLS" is the location of the driver. I select OK, and the dialog box repaints with A:\ as the only source.


I have spoken to Dymo and they confirmed that my process was correct, and that windows SHOULD see the printer. It does not. I therefore seek your help. Any ideas.

Dymo Labelwriter wireless

Hi, I am having a problem in getting the Dymo Labelwriter wireless printer to print labels/nametags at our church. We are using the printer with Breeze Church management software. I was able to set it up and print labels wirelessly at home, but upon getting
to our church, I am unable to get it to print nametags wirelessly (both have Windows 10). With Breeze's tech support, I set it up with the usb plugged into the computer and was able to print nametags. I then set up my laptop (Windows 7) at the registration
location with the usb plugged in and it wouldn't print name tags, but the Dymo test page works. Breeze suggested calling Dymo and/or contacting church tech support (none available). Dymo has been non responsive to emails, chat (which is always down), and
a couple of times I hung up after holding 20 minutes on the telephone.

I appreciate any suggestions anyone has to resolve this.

 

Dymo LabelWriter won't work with Windows 10

Thank you for choosing Dymo. I am sorry that you're experiencing issues with the DYMO Label Software. For solutions on correcting this problem, please follow the steps below:

I apologize you are experiencing issues printing. I recommend conducting a CLEAN uninstall and reinstall of the DYMO Label Software. Please view the following steps:

1. First, you will need to uninstall your DYMO Label Software from your 'Programs and Features' (Vista,7/8/10), from the Control Panel. After uninstalling, let's go to 'Computer' (Vista,7/8/10) in your Start Menu.
Note: Please make sure that you have access to view the Hidden Folders. If you would like to verify, please follow these steps: At the top of the window go to 'Tools' then 'Folder Options'. Under the 'View' tab scroll down to make sure that 'Hidden Files
and Folders' are shown. If not, select and place a check in that option, to make them viewable.

2. Clear the print queue. Ensure there are no copies of the printer. Disconnect the LabelWriter printer, via the USB connection, from the computer.

3. Uninstall the DYMO Label Software as an Administrator.
4. Delete all DYMO folders located on the local C: Drive.
Folder Locations: Windows 7, 8 or 10
C:\Program Files (32-bit) OR Program Files x86 (64-bit)\DYMO (Delete the DYMO folder)
C:\Users\ User name\ AppData\ Local (Delete the DYMO and Sanford L.P folder)
C:\ProgramData (Delete the DYMO folder)

5. After removing the DYMO folders, click on the Start Menu and find 'Run...' While in 'Run...' type in the following: regedit. Click Enter and a registry of all installed files on the computer should appear. Under here look under the following lists
and remove the DYMO folders:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ (Delete the DYMO folder)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ (Delete the DYMO folder)
Following, (with the USB still disconnected) restart the computer. Once the computer has loaded back up please install this version, 8.5.3 of the DYMO Label Software:
http://download.dymo.com/dymo/Software/Win/DLS8Setup.8.5.3.exe

Note: Do not connect the USB cable to your computer until instructed to do so during the software installation. If you have a label printer already installed, disconnect the USB cable from your computer before running the installer and reconnect the cable
when instructed to do so.

At the end of the installer, please wait for the Installation Wizard to prompt you the following message, "If this is a new installation, please connect the printer now". It will give you this message before you click 'Finish'. At that point, please connect
the printer and wait for the "New Found hardware" or "Installing device driver software" pop-up to appear.

After a period of time, the message should let you know if the driver was "installed successfully" and is "ready to use."

Next, I recommend you run the USB Firmware Updater.

1.To run the Firmware Updater copy and paste the following URL in your browser: http://www.labelwriter.com/lw450fix/LW450TTUpdater.zip.

2. Run the Firmware Update software.

3. Follow the prompts provided in the Firmware Update software.

 

Windows 10 and Dymo LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo

I will take it a step further, I had the tech people at Dymo try numerous times with remote access and they even sent a replacement printer in case it was the printer. It was not. Definitely Windows 10. Still looking for a solution.

Regarding unspecified devices, it is not loading in printers location. Then browsing for the Dymo file or going to where it is located and trying to add the printer does not work, either when done by Dymo or me. Windows 10 has rendered my postal printer
and label maker useless.
