Windows 10: Unable to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019

Unable to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86) - 14.27.29112

I tried both solutions - installing and running the Install and Uninstall troubleshooter, and deleting the related keys in the registry.

When running the troubleshooter, Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 were not visible on the list of programs. However, Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 and below was.

When going into the registry, none of the files located in that directory could be found when searching "C++ 2019 x86 Minimum Runtime - 14.27.29112".
However, searching "14.27.29112" yielded some keys, which were deleted. The computer was restarted afterwards. Still, when attempting to install the latest Visual C++ 14.27.29112, the same error is given.

 

Visual C++ 2015-2019 x64 failure to install

I've been trying to install Visual C++ 2015-2019 x64 for some time now but every time I try no matter what I do I get the error the older version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 x64 minimum runtime 14.24.28127 can not be removed

I also get told that it can't find the path to vc_runtimeMinimum_x64.msi again this is for visual c++ 2019 x64 part.

This isn't a problem with the Visual C++ 2015 - 2019 redistributable that you are trying to install. There is a Visual C++ 2015 redistributable already installed and the problem is with that.

The version of the redistributable that you are trying to install is trying to remove the old version of the Visual C++ redistributable, and this is failing.

To remove this redistributable, you must obtain a copy of the Visual C++ 2015 version 14.0.24215 and use that to remove the redistributable. It must be this exact version. Once you have done that then the Visual C++ 2015 - 2019 will install.
