Windows 10: unable to install .net 4.8 on windows server 2012 r2

Hi,when i try to install .net 4.8 it fails with HRESULT 0x800f0831. I have a clone of this server where the installation worked. I figured out that on this server the windows updates KB4498963, KB4514599, KB4556405, KB4576489, KB4566468 and KB4602960 are not installed. I tried then to uninstall them but i cant find them under installed updates.Is there a known bug or something like that? Tried to solve this with google but nothing worked for me.Kind regards

I have purchased the product key of Windows Server 2012 R2. Now the server is on Windows Server 2012 R2 Evaluation. I found a few links there they explained on how to convert from Windows Server 2012 R2 Evaluation to Windows Server 2012 R2 with valid product

Is this a correct way to do? If I follow this step, will my data be erased?

I want to avoid formatting/fresh Windows install because there are some software in the server that we do not know how to backup. We just want to get it activated now, backup will be sorted out later.

 

Update .NET Framework version on Windows server 2012 R2

I have the following scenario:

I have a Windows server 2012 R2 server with version 4.5.2 of the .NET Framework currently installed. I need to install two Windows services that were compiled with version 4.6.1 of the .NET Framework. Because the current version of the .NET Framework installed
on the server is earlier than the services I want to install, I am unable to run these new services on the server.

My question is: if I upgrade the .NET Framework on the server, to install the new services compiled with version 4.6.1, the services and applications currently installed on the server and running with version 4.5.2 will have any impact with this update?

 

Windows Server 2012 R2 msxml 6 install.

Hi,

As Microsoft XML Parser and Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.0 is detected, and it suggested me to upgrade it to msxml 6.0.

I didn't find the upgrade guide for Windows Server 2012 R2.

Can I uninstall the msxml 4.0 in "Program and Features", and then install 6.0?

Where is the msxml 6.0 install package for Windows Server 2012 R2?
