Windows 10: Unable to install the latest version of Windows 10

I regularly get reminders that my version of Windows is no longer going to be supported and that I should update to the latest version. When I go to the windows Update page, it confirms that a newer version is available and allows me to agree to the update.


However, when I restart the computer to complete the process, it starts making the changes, but inevitable stops at some point, informs me that some components of Windows could not be installed, then proceeds to undo all of the changes.


A few weeks later, I get the notice again, try to update again and the same thing happens. I have tried at least 10 time to update with the same result every time. It never tells me why the components couldn't be installed, only that they couldn't be installed, then it automatically un-does all the changes and I'm back to where I started with no clue how to correct the problem.


Any ideas how to make this work?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
