Windows 10: Unable to install Windows Updates, Apps from Microsoft Store and Extensions for Edge 0x80072EFD

Hi there. I am unable to install any updates from the settings app, apps from the microsoft store or extensions for edge. I am consistently getting 0x80072EFD error when I try to install anything thing from the settings app, microsoft store or extension store. I have another windows 10 device which does not have this issue. I have tried many different solutions from the internet but the problem persists. I have tried to completely wipe out my hard drive and reinstall both windows 10 and windows 11, but no luck. However, I can access the internet, download software and every other thing. Can an

Edge Extensions Don't Show In the Store

There might be an issues with Windows Store apps, to add the extensions. Let us try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to run the
Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.

troubleshoots problems that may prevent Windows Store Apps from working correctly.

Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps

Step 2: Go to Windows Store, check if there are any app updates for Microsoft Edge.

If found try to install and check if it helps.

Unable to download Edge extensions via MS store

Corrupted or incomplete installation may be the possible cause why you're unable to download the Edge extension. To isolate your issue, we'd like to gather more information:

• Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
• Did you get any error messages when you tried to install the particular extension?
• Does this happen when you just download that particular extension or with other application also?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Cannot install Edge extension Translator

Hi,

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with installing Edge extension translator. I will certainly help you with the issue.

I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps:

• Open Powershell as admin.
• Type: "Get-AppxPackage *pocket* | Remove-AppxPackage" without the quotes this will unsintall pocket. You can try skipping step 3.
  
• Type: "Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}" without the quotes.
  
  this will reinstall all stock apps including the Windows Store
• Now you should be able to install Pocket through the Windows Store.

Note: Replace *pocket* in step 2 with *extensionname* (example: pocket extension).
