Windows 10: Unable to install ZoneAlarm (zafwSetupWeb_158_020_18208.exe)

    Unable to install ZoneAlarm (zafwSetupWeb_158_020_18208.exe)


    I removed "ZoneAlarm Free Firewall 15.6.121.18102" because I wanted
    to do a "clean" install of (zafwSetupWeb_158_020_18208.exe). The
    problem is ... NOTHING happens when I try to execute either version.

    IF I move the installer to C:\TEMP first, it will create a sub-folder called
    {907A1104-E812-4b5c-959B-E4DAB37A96AB} and fill it up with 82 files
    in 6 folders but THAT'S IT. NOTHING happens after that and the exe
    just gets up and leaves.

    ... would love some help.

    In order to completely remove ZoneAlarm from your system, please follow the directions below carefully.

    If any of the steps below do not apply to you, or you are unable to perform the function listed, please continue to the next step.

    1. Open ZoneAlarm, double click on the 'Z' icon in the system tray in the lower right hand corner of your screen OR Click Start, All Programs, Check Point, ZoneAlarm, and click the ZoneAlarm Secruity program.

    2. After ZoneAlarm window appears, Click on the Tools dropdown and select Preferances. Uncheck the box "Load ZoneAlarm at startup" Then click OK.

    3. Close ZoneAlarm.

    4. Reboot your computer.

    After your computer has rebooted ZoneAlarm will no longer automaticlly start.

    5. Now click Start, Control Panel, Programs, select the ZoneAlarm program at the bottom of the list and click Uninstall.

    Be sure to say YES to the security check.

    6. You will be prompted to reboot your computer at the end of the uninstall.

    ZoneAlarm is now uninstalled and is not running on your computer.

    My ActiveSync connection has been disabled after previously working fine. The troubleshooting scan states that there is a conflict with ZoneAlarm. I do not have ZoneAlarm installed!

    Windows 10 - ZoneAlarm Extreme 14 running, but unable to turn off Windows Defender

    If the ZoneAlarm product properly registered itself as the provider to Windows at install, Defender should have turned off.

    I suggest contacting ZoneAlarm to determine if it is compatible and get assistance if they say it is.
