Windows 10: Unable to launch any Store Apps C:\Program...

Hi Folks,


I'm unable to launch any store apps.


For example when I try to run Notepad I get


C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.WindowsNotepad_10.2103.6.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Notepad\Note\Notepad.exe


for Paint


C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.Paint_10.2103.6.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\PaintApp\mspaint.exe


I've tried SFC /Scannon and run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

I understand how it could be when the applications doesn’t work as they are supposed to. We will look into this. However, please reply to the following questions to help you in a better way:

• Are you getting any error message?
  
• Since when are you facing this issue?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made on the computer recently?
  

In the meantime, I suggest you to follow the steps from the article
Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store to fix the issues with the Microsoft apps that are not launching. Also, follow the steps from the article

Microsoft Store doesn't launch to fix the issues you are facing in launching Store.

Hi,

It is possible that you're unable to launch apps or games from Microsoft Store due to corrupted system files. To address your issue, we suggest that you follow these steps on how to re-register the Store App:

• Right click on Start button on the desktop and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Here, User Account Control window pops up and click on Yes to open Command Prompt with administrator privileges.
• Type the below command in the Command Prompt:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

If the issue still persists, we recommend that you perform these instructions below on how to check the
advanced security settings for windows apps folder (c:/program files/WindowsApps):

• Go to my program files folder (C:\Program Files\).
• On the top, going to the view tab and enabling the hidden items check mark on the top right.
• Right-click on the WindowsApps folder and select Properties.
• Go to the Security tab and click Advanced.
• Click Change to change owner and click Advanced.
• Click find now and select the user that looks like: your name (your email address).
• Click OK and check Replace owner on sub-containers and objects.
• Click Enable Inheritance and check Replace All child permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object.
• Click Apply and select Yes, then click OK.
