Windows 10: Unable to log into my Windows 10 machine

I have a machine that I use to run Plex on, it usually runs for weeks at a time. I had to restart it today but I don't seem to be able to log into it any more.

It usually runs without a monitor, keyboard or mouse attached and I access it via RDP if I need to do anything on it.

When I try to RDP on it, I seem to get connected but the screen is black and I can't do anything.

I connected a monitor, keyboard and mouse to it but when I click on the login screen (the one with the large clock showing) to bring up the login form the background blurs but the login form doesn't show, then after about 30 seconds the login screen with the clock re-appears.

I have restarted the machine multiple times and I have also turned it off for a few minutes but it doesn't seem to have helped.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get back into the machine?

Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Unable to log into the machine

I have a new Win10 machine - when switching on it comes right to the log in screen and asking for user name and password - I have not yet set up an account on this machine so unable to log in. The user will be Emily West and I have created her Office 365
account without a licence at present. How do I get into the machine to complete a set up for this user.

I would very much appreciate an Urgent response if possible.
