Unable to log into PC: "This feature requires removable media, such as a USB flash drive....

My coworker is prevented from logging into their HP ProBook 650 G8 laptop. The laptop has windows 11 installed on it. When inputting the correct password, the laptop insists that the password is incorrect and prompts them to reset the password. However, when they go to reset it, they get the error prompt: "This feature requires removable media, such as a USB flash drive. Please connect a USB flash drive, and then try again."We never created a password reset drive. They're logging into the account that is supposedly supposed to be another Administrator account. There is technically another Admi

USB Flash Drive saying not formatted..?

    Hi,

I have a Memorex Poker Chip USB Flash Drive 1GB, and It shows up fine on one PC as "Poker Chip" in explore, and I can transfer files... but on my other PC (the one I'm on now..specs in profile) it's listed only as H: Removable Disk, and when I click on it, it says: "The Device is not formatted, would you like to format it now? (Y/N). Why would it be recognized on one PC, but the not the other? How come the other PC didn't need it formatted? When I click yes to format it, it says: "Windows was unable to complete the format"

I went to the BIOS and USB 2.0 is enabled. And Device Manager does list it as a Memorex Poker Chip..

    Partition a USB Flash Drive

This is the scary stuff that happens when you use Google:

'USB flash drives cannot be partitioned in the Windows operating if the drive is identified as removable media. The only way to partition the USB flash drive is to flip the removable bit so that it is recognized as fixed media instead which can be partitioned like any normal hard drive'

    Infoz/Appz:
Install Windows XP from USB | Bootable Flash Drive

Partition USB Flash Drives - gHacks Tech News

I got that from searching for 'partition flash drive'.

I should get paid for this.

Media PC build using Wi-fi and usb flash drives

I've had an idea in my head for the last couple of weeks about building a pc for recording TV and streaming video files from my main pc. At the moment i have a machine that does this but it's pretty big and a bit noisy!

I've been thinking of how to cut the size down and thought that using a raid array of flash media would be an awesome way to store windows and the most recently recorded programs before they are compressed and shunted by the network to my main system.

    So the questions are:
Has anyone tried this using SD/CF cards with IDE/SATA adaptors?

Has anyone booted windows with a USB Flash drive (and is so did the take less than 5 mins)?

Is there such a thing as USB to IDE adaptor (or sata) so that i could build a raid array of USB flash drives (ebay lists only IDE to USB, the type for adapting HDD's for USB ports)?

Thanks to anyone who throws in their 2c!

    Cheers,
    John
