Windows 10: Unable to login with new second created user - Windows 11 Pro 2H22

Hi all,When I created a local or online secondary user account in Windows 11 2H22 Pro, I constantly got a warning that the username or PIN is incorrect in the login screen, and I could not log in. I did not understand what the problem was, but I noticed that the password option no longer appears in the login options for local user accounts. I think my effort to create a new local user was in vain and I couldn't find any information on the internet about the problem. I don't care about the account type etc. or anything, even having so much difficulty opening an account with a new user has piss

Windows 10 Pro (1703): Unable to create new user accounts

Corrupt User Profiles are common in Windows, especially after the upgrade from Windows 8.1/7 to Windows 10, and various solutions for this problem could be applied, depending on the situation and error message you receive. Users say that user profile can
become corrupted because a lot of things, so we don’t know exactly what causing this issue.

Follow these workaround to create a new user profile.

• Restart your computer, and login to the admin account again (it’s better to use this account, than account you just created)
• Navigate to the corrupt user account (it’s on the disk you have Windows installed on (usually C, under Users)
• Open your corrupted user profile and copy content form it to your new user profile
• Once everything is done, logout from your admin account, and log back in to the new account, and your settings should be transferred.

Also, check if you enabling hidden admin account will resolve the issue. Follow the steps provided below.

• Restart your computer and boot into
  Safe Mode.
• Open Command Prompt (by right-clicking on the Start Menu button, and choosing Command Prompt Admin)
• Type in the following command and press Enter: net user administrator /active:yes
• You should get “The command completed successfully” message. Reboot your computer.

You have activated the admin account, and it will be available to login on the next boot. So, when your computer starts, just login into the admin account and follow the steps below, to create a new user profile:

• Go to Settings, and then to Accounts
• Go to Family and other users
• Click on Add someone else to this computer
• Follow the instructions and finish the creation of new users profile.

Cannot create a new user account that can be login.

Hi Tryx3, thank you very much for your comprehensive solution. Just to throw another spanner in the works I came across the following when I opened the C:\Users to look at the NTUSER.dat file in the Default folder.

• There are separate folders for every user in the system. I can see folders for all the standard and administrator users that works but
  none for those that have had the profile failure error.
• I tried creating a new standard (non Microsoft a/c) user again and it seemed to have generated the new user. On the Windows login in screen there was the icon for the new account but when I clicked on it, the same profile failure message appeared.
• Went back in to C:\Users and sure enough there was no folder for that new user.
• It seems Windows is creating the login but not a folder for the new user.

Maybe the reason I'm getting the profile loading error is because Windows created the login but not the user folder that contains his NTUSER.dat, files and subfolders, consequently can't find the profile to load.

What can you suggest. I am trying to search the Web to find if anyone has a similar problem / solution. Maybe as a last resort will have to use Windows Recovery function that retain my data files.

 

Can't Create Second User on Windows 10?

I understand the inconvenience you have experienced.

Suggest you to try the below mentioned steps to fix this issue, when you access the desktop screen:

• 
  Press CTRL+Shift+ESC to open Task Manager.
  
• 
  Click File >
  Run New Task
  
• 
  Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”
  
• 
  Type CMD and hit Enter key. Type or copy/paste the following commands at the CMD prompt and hit Enter key:
  

net user test /add

• 
  This command will create a new user account called test.
  

net localgroup administrators test /add

• 
  On executing this command makes
  test account as administrator. In simple this will give administrator privileges to test account by adding it to administrators group.
  

Note: In the above command line,
test is the name of the User Profile which we're creating. You can keep any name in the place of
test that which you think your User Profile name should be.

Now logoff from the existing User Profile. When you're on the login screen, on the left bottom corner you can see the account which we have created. Now login with that account and try to convert that account
as Microsoft account by navigating to Start/>
Settings/>Accounts/>Your Account/> Sign with Microsoft account Instead. If you have Microsoft account try to use that by entering the credentials or else follow the steps
to sign-up for new and switch with new Microsoft account.
