  1. Unable to make partition from C Drive.

I am unable to create ssd partition on my laptop. Available space is more than 800 GB yet it is displaying only 250 GB available for partition. Out of 250 GB 200 GB partition was the one I had created when I bought the laptop. So that 200 + 43 GB extra thats the only storage I am able to make partition if I extend the C drive upto 1 TB.I have tried factory reset and different solutions from internet yet nothing is working as of now. Could you please help me out?Laptop specs-MSI Alpha 15Windows 111 TB SSD16 GB RAM

    W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

    - press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
    - diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
    - list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
    - select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
    - clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
    - create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
    - exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
    - click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

Unable to make partitions of C drive

    Hi,

The inability to create a partition on your drive is either a hardware concern or there are system file corruptions that is why it's informing you to run a check disk. We can start by running the check disk. To do so, follow the steps below:

    • Right-click your C drive and select Properties.
    • A new window will show, then click the Tools tab.
    • Under the Error checking, select the Check
      button.
    • Select the Scan drive when a new window opens.
    • Wait until it finishes.

    You can check

an older version of Windows but can be applied.

    Keep us posted after troubleshooting.
