Windows 10: Unable to map network share suddenly

Hi all,

Just been accessing my network share on a linux box through a self served vpn server (on router) with no problems, when suddenly I'm getting no joy. Tried to remap (and deleted credentials) and firstly it comes back a second time with the password box, and then fails with "network error - path not found". I can connect to all webui's on all services on the home network, and to the share on an Ubuntu virtual machine. All I did was save the credentials the last time I connected successfully. The share is obviously working, as is the vpn connection. I'm stumped. Any thoughts ?

File sharing windows 10 network

I understand that you are unable to see shared folders in File Explorer. I’ll certainly assist you with this.



I would suggest you to check if Network discovery is on or not. To do this, refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Go to Control Panel > Click on
   Network and Internet > Click on Network and Sharing Center.
   
   
2. Click on Change advance sharing settings
   on the left pane.
   
3. Select Turn on network discovery
   under Private and Guest network.
   
4. Click on Save changes.

Unable To Map Network Drive

I have two Windows 10 machines named Studio and Digital on an Ethernet network. I had Windows reinstalled on the Digital machine. From the Digital machine I can map a network drive on the Studio machine. From the Studio machine I am unable to map to the hard drive on the Digital machine. I am pretty sure I have everything setup correctly on the Digital machine including the computer name, account name, password etc.
When I select the Digital machine and drive the "Enter Network Password" box appears and it says my network password is not correct.
Please see the attached screenshot.
Can someone please give me ideas as to what the problem may be? Thanks very much Bill

 

Unable to map Network Shares Windows 10


Hi,
I've got 2 Western Digital Network drives hard wired on my network, a My Book World and an EX2.


Since upgrading to Windows 10 I've had intermittent problems viewing and setting network drives. I've read a lot of other posts and tried a number of things suggested without success. WD Support have run out of ideas.

The WD Discovery tool finds the Network drives, but the box to map network drive is greyed out. I can access the desktop control panel from my browser. If I try to add a network location the drives are not listed. If I try to add the drive letter L: \\WDMYCLOUDEX2\Public the network path is not found?

I have another Windows 10 computer on the network which can access the drives without issue - so it must be a setting on my PC. Tried disabling my Kaspersky security - still not being seen?


I suspect that this has been as a result of a windows upgrade?

Anybody had similar issues?
