Unable to move saved .msg files - Windows 11

Multiple users running Windows 11 with office 365 are unable to move saved .msg files if they have had the file open and then closed it gives the error."The Action can't be completed because the file is open in Microsoft Outlook." The file has been closed and just outlook is open if I fully close outlook it will then allow you to move it. I have found if I disable the Teams Add in on outlook it no longer has this issue. I also found if you copy the .msg file and paste in a new location it works but then you have two copies.None of these workarounds are practical. Does anyone have a solution or

Opening a .MSG file created by Outlook 365

Because the apps I had tried and the one I had installed, appeared on the list of possible Apps in the list for opening MSG files, I thought that repairing Outlook might work. So I tried the repair option as Sheltieuk had suggested. When I then tried Start – Defaults afterwards and looked to see what was available to open MSG files, Outlook had appeared on the list! Selected that and it worked.

For once I have posed not only a question but an answer!!

Why can´t I save .msg as .msg in IE 11?

    Hello all,

I have a following issue with IE 11.

In our company we use a web based help desk system where I occasionally need to download .msg created in outlook (containing attachments as well).

In IE 11, when I "left-click" the link with .msg, a new tab opens containing encrypted text. If I "right-click" and choose "safe as" I only have the option to save as html.

So my question is: Is there an easy way to enable saving the .msg as ".msg"? And not to only save it as html?

(I know of a workaround as I have a possibility to change file extensions, so while saving, I change html to msg and the file gets opened properly in outlook, but other employees don´t and can´t have the option to change extensions)

E.g. in Chrome "left-click" prompts download dialog to save file as .msg and "right-click! > "save as" there is a .msg option. So I would like to see the same behavior in IE.

    Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

    Download CCcleaner from here...........

    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.
