Windows 10: Unable to open and use windows 10 search bar and file explorer search.

Hey, a little backstory to my issue, yesterday everything was fine untill a thunder struck my house yesterday and in panic i unplugged my pc from the wall while it was running. Everything works fine now except this, i dont know if me turning my pc off so abruptly could have caused this issue.

As the title says, i cant use the windows based searchbars in my pc, ive tried some common fixes that i found online but none worked. I dont know what any of this means and what id does, ive also tried running the ctfmon.exe in system 32 but that hasnt worked either. Idk what to do and this is my last hope before making a factory reset to see if it can fix it so im lookin for some advice before i do something that drastic. Thank you for taking the time to review my issue.

File Explorer search history

In any Windows 10 File Explorer window, a search bar can be found under the ribbon to the right side. When placing the cursor in this field, a drop down list appears of all previous searches. It can become quite long over time. I've been unable to find how that archived search history list can be cleared/erased. Can anyone help?

  Is it the search bar in file explorer or the search bar on desktop (cortana and search)?
  

If you are referring to the search bar in file explorer, I suggest you to follow the steps given below and check if it helps:
(to delete a specific entry)

• 
  Open File Explorer.
  
• 
  Click/tap inside the Search box, then select (highlight) the search suggestion (ex:
  ttt) that you want to delete, and press the Delete key.
  
• 
  You will not notice that it has been deleted.
  
• 
  Repeat if you would like to delete another one.
  

To clear all search entries, follow this:

• 
  Click/tap on the Download button below to download the .bat file below, then
  run it.
  
  Clear_Search_History_in_File_Explorer.bat
  

2. If prompted, click/tap on Run.

NOTE: If you like, you can stop getting the Run prompt by
unblocking
the downloaded .bat file.

3. You will now notice a command prompt quickly open and close while applying the changes to your registry.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
