Windows 10: Unable to open apps, uninstall, or install, dll errors

Good day, i'm taking a break from trying to troubleshoot this pc, and any insights would be very welcome when i come back to trying again tomorrow.


Windows 10, I had a crash during install of an update, i believe and when it rebooted, I received a missing DLL file message, ucrtbase.dll at first, so i ran the sfc scan and restarted and now i am getting windows.storage.dll is missing when i attempt to run certain programs. I can run firefox which is how i am here. I am unable to uninstall anything through add/remove programs, it asks for administrator permission, which i give, then... nothing. just stops, won't run the uninstall. I did manage to download the Microsoft media creation tool to try a repair, but the app shows the Windows logo, then a blank window. after giving it time to load, a cursor appears, but no text. i assume it is asking for a path or options to figure out what image i need to create, but there is no text to complete this properly. see image below i can click the buttons, but have no idea what they do. the same happens with other apps like attempting to install an antivirus or trying to load Steam. the cursors come up but there is no text in the windows.



I assume i need to refresh the PC but i'd like to not lose all the data if possible. if i need to, then que sera, but any help would be great. thanks!

I suggest that you perform the steps below and check if it helps resolve the issue.

• Uninstall all those apps (using revo uninstaller) which are giving you msvcr100.dll and msvcp100.dll files missing error
• Open the link below

Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 from Official Microsoft Download Center

And download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4.

3. Download VSU_4\vcredist_x64.exe if you’ll be installing this on Windows 10 64bit.

4. Download VSU_4\vcredist_x86.exe if you’ll be installing this on Windows 10 32bit.

msvcr100.dll Error trying to open Unigine Valley

Hey guys,

So I installed Unigine Valley and when I tried to open it, I got this error "The progra, can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing from your computer, Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem".

As recommended, I installed The Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (x64) package and am continuing to get the error. I have re-installed valley several times as well as the C++ package.

Does anyone know how else to fix this error? Thanks *Smile
