Windows 10: Unable to open certain files on external hard drive

I am not able to open my most recent photos and videos I uploaded to my external hard drive. There is a lock on all the recent files. When i try to open them i get a error message saying I need permission from everyone to make changes to the device. I am using the same desktop I used when importing these files, but I had done a complete reset on the machine and reinstalled windows 11. *NOTE* There is no security tab when right clicking and hitting properties. There is only General, Details, Previous Versions.

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

Yes, you may format the external hard drive. Follow the below steps.

  Connect the external hard drive to Windows 10 computer.

  Press Windows + E keys on the keyboard to the keyboard to open the file explorer.

  Locate the external hard drive on left navigation pane in File explorer.
  
• 
  Right click on the external hard drive and click on
  Format.

  Click Start and follow on screen instructions to format the hard drive.
