Windows 10: Unable to Open File if I Have Write Permissions - Can Only Open WITHOUT Write Permissions

A user reported that they and a coworker were unable to open a specific MS Project file in a file share. The can open all other MS Project files in that share and could open the problematic file last week. What's strange is I am able to open it with my user logged in. I can "Save As" a copy of the file and they can open the copy I made. When they copy the file copy/paste in Explorer since they cannot actually open it, the cannot open the copy. Even creating a local copy on their desktop they cannot open.The other strange thing is the copy I made by opening the file and Saving As was sma

If you don’t have permission for any folder follow the below steps to give permissions:

Let’s give permission to the folder and check if that helps. Follow these steps to give permissions to the drive.

• Right-click on the folder which you’re unable to access and select Properties.
• Click on ‘Security’ tab and under ‘Group or user names’ click on ‘Edit’.
• Click on ‘Add’ and type ‘everyone’.
• Click on ‘Check names’ and then click ‘OK’.
• Select ‘everyone’ and under ‘Allow’ select
  ‘Full control’ and click on ‘Apply’ and Click ‘Ok’.

Write Once Permission in Win7

There is a SW running on the client PCs and it will create some data files, which need to be stored them into the the folder in the server. However, I don't want the user of the client PCs, who executes the SW, have the ability to change the content of
the data files after they are created in the server folder. I have to give the write permission to the user of client PCs so that the SW can create files in network drive, but it also means that the user are given the permission to change the content of data
files if he/she wants. I heard that there is a permission called "Write Once", which means the user can create the files with some data in the first time, but they are not able change the content of the files if the user open the same files second time (or
the changes cannot be saved). Does anyone know how to configure this "Write Once" permission or alternative approaches? Thanks.
