Windows 10: Unable to open Nextpad

I installed an app called Nextpad from the Microsoft app store: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/nextpad-notepad-and-markdown-editor/9nblggh4nrcq?activetab=pivotverviewtab It apparently doesn't create a shortcut or any other means to open the app that I'm able to find on my system drive. Unable to open Settings

Hi,

Upon analyzing the issue, we need to check first if the
partition is still available. To do so, follow these steps:

• 
  Open
  Command Prompt
  as
  Administrator.
  
• 
  Type
  these following
  commands:
  
  • 
    Diskpart
    
  • 
    List disk
    
  • 
    Sel disk 0
    
  • 
    List partition
    

Check if the
partition
is still
available. If it is, type
exit
to
leave Diskpart
and
run
these following
commands:

Disk Checker:

To run
Disk Checker, type
chkdsk /f /r and hit
Enter.

SFC Scan:  

To run an
SFC scan, follow these steps:  

• 
  Run
  Command Prompt as Administrator.  
  
• 
  Type
  sfc /scannow
  and hit
  Enter.
  

DISM Tool:  

To run
DISM Tool, follow these steps:

• 
  Run
  Command Prompt as Administrator.  
  
• 
  Type the following command:  
  
  • 
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /scanhealth  
    
  • 
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth  
    

NOTE:
This might take a while to finish scanning.
Do not cancel.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your manufacturer
for further assistance in resetting your BIOS.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Windows 10 Office 365 cannot open files from: recent file list

Thanks for the tip! I followed all above steps.

So far I can open files from the Recent files list when I enter Word itself, however I still am unable to open any documents using the Word icon pinned to the taskbar:
