Windows 10: Unable to open Office Starter programs

starting today, and after latest updates and new feature update, unable to use word/excel. My computer has the office starter package, not the full versions. I get Application Virtualization Client could not lauch.. service is not running.. Error caode nis 46362c1-ofa10612-00006003

Windows 10 and Office Starter 2010

I'm not sure about these "Whiz Bangs" that you are referring to, however I have heard all kinds of strange things lately about Office Starter and Windows 10. Mine runs just fine still on Windows 10 after the latest upgrade. I am still thinking that it is
a marketing ploy brought about by the over success of Office Starter. Mine runs fine.

If you are have a little rectangle pop up that says you version of Office isn't registered or something of that nature, what you need to do is:

1. Right click the document/file that you are trying to open.

2. Select "Open with..."

3. If Office Starter is not in the list of programs then choose "More apps."

4. Office Starter Word/Excel should be in the list. Make sure that the box next to "Always use this app to open..." is checked before continuing

5. If you do not see Office Starter in the list, there should be another alternative other that Office 2010. Tht is probably just another name for Office Starter.

My computer has shown orange page icons for my files many time after "updates" from Microsoft. Every time it was just their update program messing with my program settings (which they should not be doing, even if it is their product because the text in the
popup is a deceit).

Office Starter 2010 Will function just fine in the Windows 10 environment. It is a 32/64 bit Windows program. You just have to get past all of the "roadblocks" that Microsoft has "erected" to keep people form using it while trying to get people to either
buy more new software or push people into using their web-based apps who want the information saved on their hard drive and not on the internet.

To uninstall Office Starter 2010, follow these steps:

• Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
• Click Uninstall a program under the Programs section.
• In the Currently installed programs list, click Microsoft Office Starter 2010, and then click
  Uninstall.
• Follow the uninstall instructions, and then restart the computer.

Office Starter 2010

Office starter 2010 was pre-installed by the Computer manufacturer and is not transferable. There is no installation media or download available.

If cost is an issue, I suggest you try Open Office or Libre Office. They are free, Microsoft compatible, and quite good.
