  1. Unable to open/reinstall apps

Hi there. I've recently had a few issues with opening apps such as Photos, Clock etc. When I opened them I got a message that they could not be opened at that time as they were updating. But that went on for a few days so I tried deleting the app to reinstall it. They still show as present in some areas such as when pressing windows key and when searching for them in the apps store but they aren't showing in my system. When I try to reinstall them, I get an error code 0x80073CF9 and that there has been an error. Please help as I'm unable to access any photos and as a photographer that's qui

    :)

Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Unable to open/reinstall apps :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

    app not open

    Hello,

We appreciate you for being part of Windows 10.

Before proceeding, we need more information to help you better.

    • What are the apps that you are unable to open?
    • Is you system up to date?
You may uninstall the apps which came inbuilt with Windows 10 using Windows PowerShell and reinstall using Windows store. Follow the below steps.

    • Open the Start menu, type
      Windows PowerShell
      in the search bar.
    • Right click on the Windows PowerShell and select
      Run as administrator.
    • Enter the below command to reinstall the Mail and calendar app.
    get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | remove-appxpackage

After performing the above steps, install the apps form the Windows store.

Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with Windows. We are glad to assist you.

    Thank you.

    Unable to open/reinstall apps

    Cannot open mail app settings

OK, my next suggestion was going to be uninstalling Mail and Calendar and reinstalling from the Windows Store. You can have a go at this by following these steps.

    1. Open the Start menu, type Windows PowerShell.
    2. Right click on the Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.
    3. Enter the below command to remove the Mail and calendar app.

    get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | remove-appxpackage

After performing the above steps, install the Mail and calendar app from the Windows Store.

Hope this helps, you will, of course, have to add you accounts back again.
