    Unable to open Word in Office 365 Business Standard


    I've signed up for trial of Office 365 Business Standard and have downloaded software on my new laptop. However, when I try to open a Word document it asks me to log in and when I use the email I used to create the account, it just brings me back to asking me to sign up for an account which I don't want to do since I already have an account and a license. I think there's a conflict between the originally installed software and the business version, but can find the originally installed software to uninstall.

    Unable to open office 2007 files in office 365

    Had Office 2007 which I have now uninstalled and installed Microsoft 365.

    I now am unable to open Word and Excel files created with Office 2007 in Microsoft 365.
    I have saved the files again to .docx and .xlsx but still will not open in 365.

    Windows 10 Office 365 cannot open files from: recent file list

    Thanks for the tip! I followed all above steps.

    So far I can open files from the Recent files list when I enter Word itself, however I still am unable to open any documents using the Word icon pinned to the taskbar:
