Windows 10: Unable to play any DVDs after the upgrade from Windows 7.

Since doing a Win 10 upgrade from Win 7, I'm unable to play any DVDs. I've done the update drivers, reinstall, uninstall, reboot etc, but still no fix. Please advise.

• Are you able to see the files of the DVD from file explorer?
• Do you see any error message?
• Is the DVD recognized by the computer?
• Do you have any issues while playing the DVD using DVD player app?

Use the hardware troubleshooter to fix the issue

The Hardware Troubleshooter is an automated tool which will check the hardware connected to the computer for any known issues with it and provides the details and on how to fix them. Follow these steps and run the troubleshooter.

Follow these steps:

• Press Windows key to get the Start menu.
• Type Troubleshooting.
• Click on Troubleshooting.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.

• In which program are you trying play DVD e.g. Windows Media player?

Get a DVD player app for Windows 10.

• If you want to play DVDs in Windows 10, go to the Windows Store to buy Windows DVD Player or another app that plays DVDs. Free DVD player options are also available.
  

Note: The Windows DVD Player app is available free for a limited time for people upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 with Windows Media Center. After the
