Windows 10: Unable to play DirectX 9 games when using the GOG Good Old Games GALAXY launcher

Whenever I use the GOG GALAXY launcher to start a DirectX 9-based game, the game either crashes and closes or it displays a black screen.

Steam for buying old computer games

GoG is better at supporting older games because they usually add community patches to ensure better or even full compatbility. It's also DRM-free if you feel ownership is important in this disposable gaming world. Both Steam and GoG is good, but GoG is objectively better at what it does since it started as a niche platform for older games, hence the name, Good old Games. You can get Gog Galaxy if you want to use their client on your PC.

 

Gaming Site Question, Steam or GOG?.

I purchase my games from GOG whenever they are available there because of their "DRM-free" model which is why you can get offline installers without needing to be connected to the internet to verify the purchase. *Smile

1. Can you download the game through GOG Galaxy?

2. Did you uninstall the GOG Galaxy platform and reinstall it?

Your computer is perfectly equipped to run Steam and Epic Games, which leads me to believe that the problem is not systems or hardware, so I focus on GOG Galaxy apps.
