Windows 10: Unable to print to my network printer after upgrade to Windows 10

I have just upgraded my secondary desktop PC Windows 7 to Windows 10 but can not print to the Samsung CLP-300 printer connected to the router on my network.


My primary desktop PC Windows 10 is connected to the same network and it prints as it should.


I have tried removing the printer from the devices listed in Settings/Printers & Scanners on the upgraded PC and then reinstalling the printer as follows:

Located the printer on my network using the Windows file manager.

Right click/Open brought up a window stating "Couldn't find a driver on the network"

Clicked OK and opened the Add Printer Wizard window.

Selected the Samsung CLP-300 series Version 3.3.0.0. 22/1/2007 driver.

This opened a window labelled Samsung_PRT_1 on Sohonas the router name.

Set the printer as default.

Settings/Printers & Scanners now shows the printer in the list, as it did before.

Clicked Manage/Print a test page - resulted in a test page printout with an error message "SPL-C ERROR - Please use the proper driver"

Ran the Troubleshooter resulted in message - Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem.

Detailed information reports - Problem with printer - Detected


The fact that my primary PC prints correctly and the fact that I can see the printer on the network with my secondary PC suggests there is nothing wrong with the network or printer.


I've compared the printer settings for my primary and secondary PCs and the only difference I can see is in Settings/Devices/Printers & Scanners/Manage/Printer properties/Ports.

Primary PC shows a checked box against \\SOHONAS\Samsung_PRT_1 Local Port Samsung_PRT_1

Secondary PC does not show this in the list and the Add Port Delete Port and Configure Port buttons are greyed out

Windows 10 new upgrade; HP network printer will not print

Windows 10 new upgrade; HP network printer shows as properly installed on printer list but will not print. Printer dialogue box shows "printing" but no output. I have removed and reinstalled this printer to this PC. Same printer worked before with
Win 8.1 and still does with my wife's Win 7 PC. So not printer. Win 10 printer troubleshooter did not find any problems. Any suggestions to correct?

I understand the inconvenience caused to you in accessing the printer on your device.

Step 1: If the drive is being detected in Device Manager try the below to update the drivers:

• Right click on Start button and select
  Device Manager.
• Expand Print queues, right click on the drivers and click on
  Update driver software.
• Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Step 2: I suggest you to check the status of
Print Spooler service and check.

Print Spooler service, spools print service and handles interactions with the printer.
If you turn off this service you won’t be able to print or see your printer.

Steps:

• Press Windows + R to open Run command, type
  Services.msc and press Enter.
• Search for Printer Spooler service, right click on it and
  Start the service.
• Also, set the Startup type to Automatic.
• Now check if you are able to install the driver.

Step 3: I suggest you to refer to the below thread, check if your issue matches with the same.

Error - Printing on Network printer

We have 4 printers on our Windows print server. The server was migrated from win2k3 to 2k8 on friday. 3/4 printers are working great, the other is having issues. When trying to print a test page to it, it gets a job status of Error - Printing.

When sending a small word document to it, it sends it to the printer, the queue is empty but nothing prints. If I goto the printer itself, it doesnt show any errors and I can print things such as information sheets and diagnostic files just fine.

All four printers are the same model, all 4 have a static IP. I can ping the printer successfully. I've tried printing from both an XP machine and the print server itself. I tried removing and adding the printer on the print server. And lastly, uunplugged the printer for 30 seconds, plugged it back in.

Any ideas?
