Unable to Project my screen to a wireless display

I have a Lenovo m720q Tiny PC connected to a LCD TV setup as wireless display in a conference room at work. It is utilizing Assigned Access as a kiosk running the Connect App. Everything looks good and the display is discoverable on my Lenovo T480s laptop. But every time I try and connect the screen says connecting but it errors out with my laptop saying "Couldn't connect to your device." I have tried multiple laptops and they all get the same error.

    Troubleshooting I have tried:

Verified both my laptop and the kiosk support Miracast

I have updated both computers and they are fully patched Win 10 Pro 2004

    I have disabled the firewall

I have updated all the drivers

netstat shows that there is a connection initiated when I try and connect

    Please help, thanks.

    :)

  2. Wireless Display will not project

    Hi Chris,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

It's unfortunate that you are facing this issue. Let me assist you to resolve the issue.

To be able to mirror the screen on a third-party device, you need to make sure that the source as well as the receiver have Miracast support. If the manufacturer of the third-party device has mentioned that the device supports wireless display, then
you can be rest assured of the Miracast compatibility with the device.

To use miscasting on your computer, please follow the steps below and check if that helps.

    • To access project option on Windows 10, press the
      Window + P keys together.
    • If your computer supports the Miracast display, then you will see an option as
      Add a wireless display.
    • Click on Add a Wireless display. It will start searching for the new displays which are available in the range provided. Once you find the required device on the search results, click on the
      device name.
    • Now Windows will install the required drivers on the device and shortly you will see the third part display displaying your device.
    • Later if you want to disconnect the device, you can do the same from your computer by going to the project screen (Windows + P keys) and clicking on the
      disconnect option.

Unable to Project my screen to a wireless display

Unable to project PC screen to TV

    Hi Saidy,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are not able to project the PC screen to TV. It would be great if you can answer these questions to assist you in a better way.

    1. What is the make and model of the PC and TV?
    2. What happens when you try to project to TV?
    3. Were you able to project the laptop screen to TV earlier?

Miracast is a wireless technology your PC can use to project your screen to TVs, projectors, and streaming media players that also support Miracast. You can use this to share what you’re doing on your
PC, present a slide show, or even play your favorite game on a larger screen.

I suggest you refer and follow the suggestions from
Fix connections to wireless displays or docks

    Additional Information:

Project to a wireless display with Miracast.

    Hope it helps.
