Windows 10: unable to purchase and add my debit card

Hi Team,


I want to purchase from microsoft store but it always shows error on my card details which as per records are correct. sometimes it shows incorrect name or card number or CVV but all things are correct. I am fed up of adding my card details in payment method, it always shows [COLOR=rgba164, 38, 44, 1]Check the info you entered. It doesn't match the info for this card.[/COLOR] also I have seen lot of question regarding microsoft store and still felt that your microsoft store problem never ever solved, my question is that why is microsoft is not resolving microsoft store related problem? or give us easiest solution but don't give us worthless solution or other payment gateway solution in India. will you guys provide me some other way to add payment method. I have tried my all debit cards but still microsoft not accepting any cards. please help me out. please give me solid suggestion how can i make any purchase from microsoft store.

So I do not believe there is an option to pay via debit card. On my account in the USA, I only have the option to use a credit card or PayPal.



That said, I am not sure about this but I believe that if you set up a new payment option and choose credit card (assuming debit card is not an option) and input all the information it should work. Make sure the following is true:

• your debit card must have either the Visa or MasterCard logo on.
• Your debit card cannot have restrictions on subscription-based internet purchases. If you are not sure whether your debit card has restrictions on subscription-based Internet purchases, contact the financial institution that issued the debit card.
• You must have more than one dollar in your debit card account.

Give it a try and see if it works ...

The point with debit cards if you are having issues is to contact the issuing bank and see if there are any online purchasing restrictions.

There are no online purchasing restrictions on my card. I use it to buy apps off the phone.

I just tried to purchase a game for 79p from the store. It defaulted to my stored paypal payment details, with an option to change my payment options. I pressed that and was able to select my debit card. I finished the transaction and the game downloaded.

So I tried to purchase music again. "We don't have a credit card on file for your account". No option to change the payment options. Just one to 'Add a Credit Card'.

So. I can buy music through debit card on Android. I can use a debit card on my iPhone. But to buy two different types of download through the windows store, I need two different types of payment method. Apps and games can be done through debit or paypal
but for music I need to add a credit card?

Surely the Windows Store is the Windows Store? You don't go into a shop on the high street and find their goods are restricted depending on what sort of card you happen to have in your wallet?

"I'm sorry sir, you can't buy that jacket. It's for people with credit cards only. How about a nice newspaper? You can buy that with your... debit... card."

I just don't understand the thinking behind this.
