Aight so I'll try to make this brief.I bought a laptop a few years ago, and when Windows 11 rollouts happened, I did the upgrade. All was smooth, no activation errors or anything in the transition from 10 to 11. Last week, that laptop died about as quick as Amber Heard's reputation. We're talking smoke and fizzles. Unsalvageable. Motherboard died, sadge.I bought a used version of the same model and simply transferred my cards over. Works like a dream, only now Windows 11 says it's not activated.> "We can't activate Windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital license or pro

    New SSD activate Windows

I just upgraded my computer and purchased an SSD. I cloned my HDD and am now running Windows 10 from my new SSD. It would appear that I need to Activate Windows again now that it has been changed, but I'm unable.

    I followed the guide here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change

When I get to the step:

The troubleshooter will show a message that Windows can’t be activated on your device. Select I
changed hardware on this device recently, and then select Next.

I'm prompted to enter a Microsoft account. No matter what I enter here I get the error. Oops something went wrong. The service isn't available.

I can't proceed past this step.

Unable to reactivate Windows after significant Hardware Change (CPU+MB+SSD)

    Hello,

I am unable to reactivate my Windows version after a fresh install on the new hardware.

Before removing the old components, I made sure that my Windows license is linked to my Microsoft account.

When I try to activate on the new hardware using the troubleshooter with the "I change hardware on this device recently" option, the only message I get is: "Unable to activate Windows. We can't reactivate Windows on this device. Try again later."

What can I do to fix this Issue? The phone support said it will only work with a product key, unlike the guide here .

Edit: i searched my 3 year old emails and found my Windows key, solved this way. Thanks for the help!

Unable to reactivate Windows 10 after hardware change

    Hi there,

I recently upgraded system hardware including Motherboard and am unable to reactivate Windows 10 via the activation troubleshooter:

I have tried removing my old PC configuration from the list of devices in my windows account but still no luck!

    • My windows account was linked to my PC prior to the change
    • Login in / out of my windows account has no effect
    • My version of windows was a free upgrade program from Windows 7, would this be an issue?
Any help and ideas would be appreciated!

    Many thanks,
