    On my Lenovo Ideapad 3 laptop, there is 4GB onboard RAM, in addition in the single RAM expansion slot I have a 32GB DDR4 RAM chip.Of late there is 32.6GB as hardware reserve as seen on the memory tab of Performance Monitor.Using msconfig>selective startup>Boot>Advanced options...>maximum memory is checked by default showing 0I have unchecked the Maximum memory and tried setting it to less like 8GB yet it does not sustain, after it restarts it again goes back to taking 32.6GB as hardware reserve.I have tried exploring if I can reduce the iGPU RAM in BIOS also, but there is no settin

    How to reduce Hardware Reserved Memory in Windows 10 Pro

    My system is running Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit. I have 32GB of installed memory, however Windows only reports that 15.9GB is "usable". The other 16.1GB is shown as "hardware reserved".

    How can I reduce the "hardware reserved" and make more of my RAM "usable"?

    Is it safe to reduce hardware reserved memory from bios my laptop is Lenovo ideapad gaming 3 with 8 gb ram 5.9 usable as 2gb hardware reserved memory and l want to reduce it to 0.5gb

    Half of RAM 'Hardware Reserved'

    I have 32GB of RAM installed and half is "hardware reserved" by Windows. I've tried every suggestion I can find, including moving the modules around to different slots. My MB does not have onboard graphics. Specs:
    • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-AX370M-DS3H (BIOS on latest firmware)
    • CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X (upgraded from 1700x and it didn't help)
    • RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE® LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz C16 Memory Kit
    • GPU: Nvidia RTX-2060 Super
    The BIOS, Windows, CPUZ and HWInfo all show 32GB installed and both slots used, but Windows says "Hardware Reserved: 16.1GB". This was occurring on Windows 10. I am currently running Windows 11 (beta channel) and it didn't help. I also upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 7 1700 with no change. Pics: Imgur: The magic of the Internet
