Unable to Reinstall Visual C++ Redistribution 2013 and other software

    Hello!

    Hello!

This sounds like an apple problem but it isn't trust me.

So this all started this morning. I was on my PC (Win 10 latest update) pursuing iTunes for some music, I went to purchase and lo and behold I had to verify my billing data (which I couldn't do because I wasn't on the latest version). I tried to auto update but I was just given an error and was told to try and manually install the update. That caused an issue as well. So I thought Ill clean uninstall and redownload.

    Here is where it all starts going wrong. So I download from the windows store because thats what Apple tries to push and it was effortless, until my Ipod wasn't being registered on my iTunes (was fine before). I end up calling apple support who inform me that Win Store Version doesn't install the crucial 'Apple Mobile Support'... (bloody useless). We get the correct .exe from the site but then when I try to install it I get the following message;

    https://imgur.com/hqAEM76

The difference is the file was mscvp120.dll

The Apple person is stumped and it pushes me up to a higher person. Long story short is that we end up trying to fix the file with trying to update the drivers, factory resetting my ipod, running sfc/scannow to find issues which it found nothing, we deleted said file it thinking that it's linked to a corrupt part of the Visual C++ Redistribution packages. We uninstalled all of them and reinstalled all of them..save 2013. Whenever I try to reinstall that I get a similar error to a different file in a different location. (System32).

I'm at my wits end here, I even contacted microsoft who themselves couldn't find an issue. They said that it will fix itself when the next windows update is but i don't want to wait that long? Plus the guy wasn't really convincing me. I do have full control of the system.

Any help would be most appreciated, I've now got a blank useless Ipod, some programs that won't open because they need these problem files, unable to install I think a pretty crucial package and I feel like any future installations aren't going to work.

    :)

  2. Laptop HP pavillion is unable to install any Visual C++ Redistributable packages

    Hi Joey,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that, you are in a frustrating situation, because your computer faces issues with Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages programs.

I'd certainly help you, to resolve the issue.

For a better clarity of your issue, please answer the query, mentioned below:

    1. Do you receive any error message or error code, while installing the package?

    2. Have you made any changes to your system, prior to this issue?

    3. Which version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages programs, you are trying to install?

The issue occurs, if the correct C++ runtime components of your system are missing or have got corrupted. In this case, I would suggest you to uninstall all the package installed in the system, except latest 2013 version and then install all
the package in clean boot state as mentioned below:

    Step 1:

Uninstall all the Microsoft Visual C++ package from your computer

Follow the steps when your computer has booted to desktop.

    a) Press Windows + x key together and select Control Panel.

    b) Click on Programs and Features option.

    c) Locate all Microsoft Visual C++ programs, except latest 2013 version, right click on program and select on Uninstall.

    e) Follow the onscreen instructions to uninstall all the Microsoft Visual C++ programs, except latest 2013 version.

    Step 2:

    Clean boot the system:

If the issue still persists, let’s try to perform a clean boot and check, if you receive any error message. Setting the system in a clean boot state will help to identify, if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

    Note: applies to Windows 10.

Warning: After clean boot troubleshooting steps, refer to the section "How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot" in the provided link to return your computer to Normal startup mode.

If the issue still persists, uninstall all the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages programs and reinstall it.

If you wish to reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages programs, wait for the Windows updates on Windows 10 and reinstall it.

I would also suggest these following steps to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2013

Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 and install it.

Click on the link given below and install in on your computer.
