    Hi, I recently had an issue with my windows 10 laptop and my user profile was not accessible. I kept being signed into a temporary profile. My profile was still there but only a backup status. My laptop is a dual boot with Fedora, I copied all my files to a second drive on the laptop and with a Windows 10 media creation tool attempted a number of times to fix and reinstall the OS. Initially I tried System Restore but this was still initialising after a couple of hours, so I interrupted with a forced shutdown with the power button. I created a new bootable image with the Media Creation Tool but

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
