Windows 10: Unable to remove iCloud email from Windows 10 Mail app

Hi,


I am trying to remove an unresponsive iCloud account from my Windows 10 Mail/Calendar app. This account was set up in Windows 10 Version 2004, but has since stopped working upon reverting to Windows 10 Version 1909. When I try to remove the unresponsive iCloud account, it does not let me. As in it does not even pull up the account settings window. When I click on the account, a box flashes up like it's going to let me remove the email, but flashes away just as quickly.





As you can see in the image above, I have no other mail accounts configured. This is because I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing the mail and calendar apps. I have tried both from the add/remove programs area in settings, and with this powershell command: get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* remove-appxpackage. I foundthis thread on this forum, but nothing from that thread seemed to fix my problem. In that thread, it seemed like the end result was a clean install of Windows 10 on the computer. This would be less than ideal, and any other solution to this problem would be welcomed.

Can't remove failed icloud email in mail windows 10 application. No checkbox or instruction if i click on broken/failed icloud email. Really frustating.
