Windows 10: Unable to remove work account that I can access no longer

I am currently an intern, and I interned last summer as well. I am facing issues when trying to setup my work account on my personal laptop. So basically my alias and email address is different to what I had previously and I believe that, that account has been deleted already by the company.

But on my machine, it still shows that I am connected to that account, and I can neither remove it as the remove option is greyed out nor add my current alias work account. PFA the snapshot


I tried many of the existing solutions like the solutions mentioned in this thread Can't remove a Work or School account from Windows 10 - Microsoft Community for instance but nothing worked for me as that account that I am trying to remove can be found nowhere - not under Family nor Other Users tab nor under "Other Accounts you Use"


Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

 

Windows hello removal from an account I no longer have access to.

Just a quick recap, you've set up Windows Hello on a user account on your
PC that is associated with a business account you no longer have access to. Is that right? If that is the case, you could simply
remove the user account on your PC. You will need an administrator account in order to remove a user account. To remove a user account on your PC, follow these steps:

• Go to Settings>Accounts>Family & other users.
• Select the user account that you want to remove.
• Click Remove.
• You'll be prompted again, click Delete account and data.
  
  (Note: Removing a user account deletes all the data the is saved in it)

Upon removing that account on your PC, you can now set up Windows Hello.

Removing Work Account

To remove your work account from your machine. Please follow the steps below and I hope that it can help you solve the issue. Please make sure that your account has administrative rights before doing the step.

1. Click start menu then settings > Account > Access Work or School

2. In the Access Work or School option, click the account that you want to remove from the list then click disconnect
