Unable to repair Windows10 using SFC/DISM or in-place upgrade

    Hello,

Once in awhile I check my system files using SFC,
I just checked it but found problems and wasn't able to fix them.
So I ran the DISM command but then again couldn't fix it. Code: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /restorehealth[/quote] The DISM command gave me this message:
So I downloaded an ISO with the same version and build as my current OS (windows 10 pro x64 - build 10586) to use the option "Source" by mounting the ISO.
But same error as mentioned above showed up.

So my last idea was to do a in-place upgrade , and I did by following this tutorial of yours, it all went smoothly but after the in-place upgrade finished it seems nothing had change since the SFC found problems.

    Im out of ideas here.

    Attached, CBS and DISM logs.

    :)

  2. Unable to repair the system use sfc or dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

After click Repair your computer, then it just like the advanced startup. it still need the image which created by the computer but not the install file.

1 Actually , everything works right, just dism unable to find source.

2 After the update from 8.1, sfc said that system files wrong.

And the way you provide doesn't work, sorry for that.

Downloaded Iso from where? Downloaded from Tech Bench will result in an install.wim file in the sources folder to use as source. If you used Media Creation Tool to download the iso, it will have an install.esd in the sources folders instead and THAT doesn't work well as /source for DISM restore health.

Then like Post #6 here from Topgundcp SFC some corrupt files can not be fixed

    Maybe related to NVIDIA Driver.

Looking at his CBS log, one of his errors IS Opencl.dll which SFC could not repair. But, that does seem strange because after running SFC /Scannow, most of the time it DOES repair that file, with the older one from MS.

    dippas,

My reply is just to elaborate what Word Man has already told you in Post #3.
Your dism .......> restorehealth said " source files could not be found" because your ISO was downloaded from Media Creation Tool which gave you the Install.esd.
You need the Install.wim which can be obtained by downloading the ISO from Tech Bench.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softw...load/techbench

Once you have the iso downloaded, right click at the ISO > click Mount >
Then open the elevated command prompt and copy and paste this................

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:H:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess

Note : H is the drive where the iso is mounted. Change it if your driver letter is different.

When it is completed, you should get the report that the operation is successful.
Now run the sfc /scannow again. It should be ok this time.

Read through my link, it is due to the NVIDIA driver and Microsoft, we believe a bug with Microsoft.

Hi, I didn't download from media creation tool,

Since I'm on vacations right now , I'm on a place that the internet speed is too slow among other issues. so I managed to download the ISO from one another site besides techbench or MCT, and this ISO has install.wim not install.esd because I checked after mounting it.

The site where I downloaded the ISO is this one
