Windows 10: Unable to Reset Windows 10

Discus and support Unable to Reset Windows 10 in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Upon trying to reset windows 10, and trying to "clean data, and reinstall windows from this device" I continually get an an error message saying there...     Unable to Reset Windows 10


    Upon trying to reset windows 10, and trying to "clean data, and reinstall windows from this device" I continually get an an error message saying there was a problem resetting my computer. When I deselect the option to clean data, and reinstall windows, and the computer actually does seem like it is resetting, it will sit there hours upon a time with nothing but a black screen. I know the power is on, because the fan is fully functional and spinning. There is actually some sort of signal being projected to the monitor because the blue power light on the monitor is illuminated, but the screen will stay black for hours where the monitor would normally go idle and the blue power light on the monitor would turn amber. I left my computer in this state overnight and it sat for over 12 hours with no success. Isn't there supposed to be some progress bar indicating the status of the reset represented on my monitor during ANYTIME in the reset process?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows 10 fails to update


    When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

    Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

    I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
