Windows 10: Unable to retrieve users from Active Directory from Workgroup/out domain pc

Dear Team Good Day!!We encountered a difficulties while accessing users from Active Directory in below scenario. We seek your kind help and advice to resolve it. Scenario : Share folder Access permissions 1. We have shared in our file server which given to certain users and group and its work as expected 2. Whenever we need to add more users to that shared folder and its sub folders , we added users by browsing it from the properties of that shared folder from Domain joined computer and its working fine 3. However when we tried to add users on the same shared folder from workgroup computer whi

Wndows 10 Not leaving Workgroup To Join Domain

I have a new PC and am trying to join it to our domain. It displays under network and sharing that it is in the domain, but when I go to system properties and computer name then join the computer or change its name it is listed in a workgroup. If I try to change the workgroup to our domain it says to remove it from the workgroup. The new PC is in active directory on our domain server. How do I remove it from the workgroup?

In this scenario, we would suggest you to perform these steps and check.

1. Press Windows + Pause Break or open
   control panel and click on System.
   
2. Click on Advanced system settings from the left pane.
   
3. Select the Computer Name tab from the top and click on
   Change.
   
4. Select the radio button beside Workgroup and provide a name.
   
5. Click Ok. Then in the prompt click Ok.
   
6. Type the user name and password of an administrator account from this PC (not domain), and click/tap on
   OK.
   
7. Restart the PC and check.

Active Directory Domain Controllers

Hey all,

In the spirit of crunching on CPU while folding on GPU, I've recently begun converting my older machines from F@H to WCG. The problem is however, several of those are Active Directory Domain controllers and BOINC seems unwilling to even install because of this. Anyone happen to know a way around this? I could demote these systems, but I kinda need them for studying/testing purposes.
