Windows 10: Unable to run Media Creation Tool when upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 10 error...

My Asus laptop is currently installed with Windows 8 so I am trying to upgrade to Windows 10. I have downloaded from Microsoft website the Media Creation Tool for Windows 10 from the link below.https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10However, after downloading and running the Media Creation Tool for Windows 10 as administrator, the error code 0x80072F8F - 0x20000 appears telling me that it is unable to run this tool on my PC and to contact support. I am trying to upgrade from windows 8 to 10 and it comes up with an error whenever i try to run the media creation tool. any help would be appreciated, i need to update windows asap

 

Windows Media Creation Tool Error

I'm trying to install Windows 10 Media Creation Tool onto my 16GB flash drive. The download finishes and it moves onto the step of verifying the download. At around the 60% mark it pops up with an error message saying

"There was a problem running this tool

We are not sure what happened but we are unable to run this tool on your pc, if you continue experiencing problems reference the error code when contacting customer support 0x800701B1 - 0xA001B"

I've ran the media creation tool 3 times now and the same error message pops up.
