  1. Unable to save files in C Drive as an administrator

    Hi,

so whenever I install a new programme on my computer, I cannot save it directly to C drive, for example, C:\Program Files. I will receive the following error message:

    "C:\Program Files\Application_name

You don't have permission to save in this location.

Contact the administrator to obtain permission.

Would you like to save in the bertr folder instead?"

    bertr is my user folder

I do not understand why this is happening, as I am the administrator and only user of my laptop. One workaround is for me to save in another folder, move it, and when it asks for administrator permission I can click "yes", no problems there.

By extension, I am unable to access some other administrative functions, for example the full list of settings in "Advanced Power Settings".

    Please assist, thank you!

    :)

unable to save a file, directly to c- drive

    Hello chowdhuryrasul21 -

I'd like to help you get this issue resolved. You say you cannot save to your C: drive.

Is this a personal computer or a work computer?

Were you able to save directly to the C: drive previously?

If you were able to save directly to the C: drive previously, did you install any software or Windows updates right before you were unable to save directly to the C: drive?

Unable to save files in C Drive as an administrator

Can't save file in C:\ root directory

I want to save files in my C:\ root directory of my boot drive and get an error that "Required privilege is not held by the client". I am the sole user/administrator of this system. I went into C:, properties, security, and enabled permissions for everything and everyone.

I can make/delete new folders in the C: drive, and save/delete files in those folders.
My Win 10 system works just fine, except for me to save a file in the C; root directory

I can save files from apps to the C:\, and if I save the same file again, it tells me it exists and if I want to overwrite it, so it is indeed saved to the root directory.

In windows explorer I can't see those saved files in the root directory.

    Any suggestions?
