Windows 10: Unable to scan on HP Officejet G85 with windows 10(64 bit)

I have an old HP Officejet G85. I just got a new HP desktop with Windows 10 (64) HP Pavilion Desktop PC 570-p0XX.


Everything was working fine and now I cannot do a scan.


Printer is working fine.


Can someone give me suggestions?

Installing HP Officejet G85 all-in-one on Windows 10

I have an old HP Officejet G85. I just got a new laptop on Windows 10 and I discover HP does not provide drivers for this printer/scanner on Windows 10. I have been searching and found tools like PHPSdr or HPPiw but none detects the printer even. When I
do plug the USB cable in the PC, it does not even come up with "new hardware found". It merely 'pings' a sound when I plug it in. Also when I later turn power of the printer off or on it 'pings' on the laptop.

Has anyone been successfull on installing a G85 on Windows 10 ?

HP OfficeJet All-in-one in Windows 7 and Virtual XP

I have a similar problem with my HP Touchsmart All-In-One PC. I have Windows 7 64-bit and when I download and install the driver from the HP website, it completes all steps of the install except the last step which is called "configuring." It tries for
about 10 or 15 minutes to finish the configuring and then presents a message saying "fatal error." After this I can print OK but I cannot use HP Solutions Center to scan. I spent about 10 hours on the phone with HP's PC tech support and they were unable
to solve the problem. They finally referred me to HP's printer tech support group. That group told me that phone support is no longer available for the Officejet 7210 and suggested I buy a new All-In-One Officejet printer. This is riciculous. If HP has
a Windows 7 64-bit driver available for the Officejet 7210 that does not work, why do they offer it? It seems there is no way to solve this problem. I'm very disappointed with HP over this issue. And no one there seems to care.
