Windows 10: Unable to scroll down a document in the preview pane of Windows Explorer.

The title says it all, really. Until last week I could scroll down a document in the preview pane of Windows explorer. This week I cannot. As far as I am aware, all drivers and Windows itself are up to date. The only thing that happened last week is we had a Windows update. Sometimes it works if I click on the preview itself, sometimes not!Any suggestions? This is driving me nuts!

Setting the Preview pane to show or hide in File Explorer will apply to all folders. If you wish to hide the Preview pane in File Explorer, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Tap on View tab.
• Click Preview Pane to view/hide it.

Scrolling the "preview pane" in file explorer no longer works on Windows 10

In file explorer if I want to preview a pdf document the "preview pane" under 'Pane' and when I select my pdf document the preview shows. The problem comes when trying to scroll through it. A day ago scrolling through the preview was possible using "two
finger scrolling" but now this seems to be no longer. Instead I can click onto the slider and drag it down to go through the preview document.

Please will someone assist me on how I can get back to the two finger scrolling on my document previews. It would truly make life so much easier again.

Preview pane doesn't work in Windows 10

1. Are you facing issue with all your files or any particular files?
   
2. Which version of Windows you are using?
   
3. Since when are you facing this issue?
   

The Preview pane shows the contents of certain files selected in File Explorer. For images, it is a thumbnail preview.

If you are unable to preview in File explorer, I suggest you to try the below steps.

1. Open a new File Explorer window and click the View tab from the ribbon toolbar.
   
2. Click Options, and then click Change folder and search options to open Folder Options dialog.
   
3. Check the Show preview handlers in preview pane box, and click/tap on OK.​
