Windows 10: Unable to search Installed Apps in search bar

Problem: I am unable to search installed apps in the search bar. When I type name of app e.g. WhatsApp , it shows me instead web results. I search for previous questions related to this and have not found a solution that works for me. Windows : Windows 11 Pro , 23H2 , OS Build: 22631.3672 I have no pending updates, everything is uptodate. I got this brand new laptop from Dell. Sad thing is I have raised 3 tickets with Microsoft , they have not replied to any one of them and simply closed them.I am posting here assuming someone from Microsoft will reply. Or else only option I got is to return

Unable to search files using Windows search bar

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Let me help you to fix the issue.

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. I would recommend you to run
search and indexing troubleshooter.

  Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.
  
• 
  Type Troubleshooting on the search bar on the Control Panel.
  
• 
  Type indexing on the search bar and click on click on
  search and indexing.
  
• 
  Click on Advanced on the search and indexing dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
  
• 
  Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the
  search and indexing troubleshooter.
  

Please be informed that, it is not possible to revert back to the Windows 7 Start menu. However, I suggest you to give your valuable feedback and suggestion using Windows feedback app.

Downloaded app, and a random search bar came to the top of my screen.

The search bar that is showing on the upper part of the screen is a 3rd party search bar tool. This tool bar may have been included during the installation or when you installed the CamStudio on your computer. To take that off from your screen, we suggest
that you uninstall the search bar tool. To do that, follow these steps:

• Right-click on Start and click Control Panel.
• Go to Programs and features and click Uninstall a Program.
• Under Uninstall or change a program, scroll through the list to check if there is any third party tool\search bar installed on the computer.
• If yes, right-click on the tool\search bar and uninstall it.

Honestly, my best results searching for stuff here is to go to googlebing, search for "xxxxxx TPU" with xxxx being replaced by your keywords.
