  1. Unable to see wifi networks, but instead only two broken dropdown boxes?

So for the last couple of weeks I've been trying to fix this really weird issue.I'm on Windows 10 and whenever I try to open my wifi networks all I see is this and I'm not entirely sure why. It should be showing me a list of wifi.It looks like there are two dropdown boxes, but there isn't I've clicked on them and they don't do anything, in fact they really shouldn't even be there.I've tried pretty much everything I can think of to fix it. I've tried resetting my network, reinstalling my wifi drivers, I've looked through different forums and tried every single little fix I could find,

    :)

  2. Unable to see a specific WiFi Network in list

I have Windows 8.1. I can see the WiFi networks of everyone in the vicinity. However, am unable to see the WiFi network installed in my home.

The WiFi Network that am unable to see is a new connection. This new connection is seen by all devices (Mobiles etc) but it is.not getting displayed in my Windows 8.1 list.

I have seen other threads on the issue which recommend checking WLAN Autoconfig etc. And have tried those steps too. But there is no change in the outcome.

Can anyone please suggest any solution that migjt work. I am not willing to format my Laptop.

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

    Thanks in adv and Regards

    Network configuration broken (WiFi)

Thanks EdTittel for the suggestion, but this is a harder nut.
Full network reset doesn't resolve. In device manager, I can see all physical network adapters (Realtek for ethernet and Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 for wireless). All enabled and no warnings. But if I click on taskbar system network icon, I don't see any WiFi network in the popup. There's only airplane mode button and link to open network and internet settings. The troubleshooter in network settings doesn't find anything it could repair.

There's although one clue pointing that something is broken
Settings → Network and Internet → Change adapter options → WiFi → Rightclick menu → Diagnostics finds a problem with the driver (not fixed)
The adapter state is all OK, signal present, enabled
