Windows 10: Unable to Select the Text in the PDF file

Why can I no longer select text in PDF with curser? Always have done but something now seems to have changed? Just get the hand pointer. Always used to use SHIFT plus MOUSE to move PDF window around, but now only get the hand pointer, which will still move window around without the SHIFT key. But can no longer select text to copy?[Original Title: PDF file]

Should it be possible to select some text in PDF files with the PDF reader?

On the Desktop It is possible in my PDF file to select and Copy text with any PDF Reader.

On my Windows Phone 8 it is impossible with

- Microsoft PDF Reader and also

- Adobe PDF Reader ....

I can confirm Sven's reply. The Adobe Reader app lets me select & copy text if the PDF file allows that, the Microsoft PDF Reader does not provide a wat to select text.

Regarding your PDF documents, the location will be based on where you saved the files. For your second inquiry, your documents can be converted to a PDF. If the original file is from Office Word, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

  In Word, select File > Save As.
