Windows 10: unable to set a local user account windows 10

Hi to All,Just new to the forum, I have a question about windows 10 pro.Looks like this laptop was reset but I think this laptop was set-up for an school board.After reset on the step to se-up a user my only option is enter an email address for an specific school board., I am not member of that school. can any one tell me if its an option to change that to a local user account.

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

 

Can't switch to Local account in Windows 10

Refer to these steps to convert Microsoft account into Local User account:

  Click on Windows button, then click on

  Click on Accounts then click on
  Your account.
  
• 
  Click on Sign in with a local account instead.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to create a new Local user account and check if that helps you.

  Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Control Panel”.

  Click on “User Accounts” and click on “Manage another Account”.

  Click on “Add a new user in PC Settings”. Follow the on screen directions to complete the process.

New Local Account Not Working In Windows 10

This issue could have happened due to corrupted profile on your Windows 10. We suggest that you delete the non-working profile on your PC and try to register it again.
