Windows 10: Unable to sign-in or verify in Authenticator

Tried to set up an email account.Selected add account, school. Enter user name and password.The Authenticator wants a code entered into the app which can not be done as I am already in the Authenticator. Select can not use Authenticator and get a code a different way.Select call or text to cell phone. Note the code only shows for a few seconds. Just deleting the Authenticator and adding it back did not work as Authenticator is remember the phone number.Offered one-time passcode in Authenticator which can not be done since the Authenticator can not be set up. Microsoft Authenticator App - Unable to sign in.

I am using an iPhone. I had to do a hard reset at some point. After reinstalling the Microsoft Authenticator App, I am unable to sign into the app. I try to sign in, then my 2-step verification kicks in telling me a code has been sent to the authenticator app, which is what I am trying to sign back into. The other options like text and my other email seems to be not working. This is for my personal account. I have tried to remove the authenticator from my two step verification on my PC when signed into my account, but it will not remove. Does anyone know how to get the app to start working again?

 

FireFox Account Sign in Authentication Issue

My microsoft authenticator number has expired and I can't sign in

2. Use backup codes: If you previously set up backup codes for your Microsoft account, you can use them to sign in. Backup codes are typically provided during the initial setup of Microsoft Authenticator. They act as a backup method to sign in when you don't have access to the app. Enter one of your backup codes in the sign-in process when prompted.
   
3. Contact your administrator: If you're using Microsoft Authenticator for a work or school account, reach out to your administrator or IT support for assistance. They may be able to help you regain access to your account or provide alternative methods for authentication.
   
4. Recover your account: If you're unable to sign in using the above methods, you can attempt to recover your Microsoft account. Visit the Microsoft account recovery page (account.live.com/acsr) from a different device or browser and follow the instructions to initiate the account recovery process. You'll need to provide as much information as possible to verify your identity.
