Windows 10: Unable to sign into new Minecraft Launcher

After recently downloading the new Minecraft launcher from the Microsoft store in order to play the Bedrock edition, I've found that I'm unable to log into the launcher. Previously, I had gotten the 'Deep Ocean / 0x80070057' error when trying to log in using Microsoft, but after attempting some troubleshooting - trying to log in results in the launcher freezing and then crashing. I have also found that the Xbox app is not working, and on attempting to open it, it crashes after a little bit of attempting to load. I have tried multiple troubleshooting fixes, like making sure my Windows is up to

Unable to Download New Minecraft Launcher from Microsoft Store

I am unable to download the new Minecraft Launcher from the store and I'm seeing an Error Code: 0x89235172.

I have tried multiple ways of fixing this:

• Correct date/time & time zone
  
• Troubleshooting Windows Store
  
• Wi-Fi enabled and working properly
  
• Checked proxy settings
  
• Repaired Windows Store using PowerShell
  
• Reset Windows Store
  
• Restart Computer
  
• System Up-to-Date
  
• Sign-out then sign-in.
  
• Tried installing from My Library
  
• Uninstalled old Minecraft Launcher
  

Please assist me on this, thank you.

 

Problem with the minecraft launcher.

There are many reasons why you can't log in to Minecraft Launcher, but all of them are due to Microsoft Store and related services. I will provide several methods to try to solve this problem, please refer to the following steps for operation:

• Clear the cache on Microsoft Store.
  

1. Press the Windows logo key + R, type wsreset.exe, and select OK.
   
2. After a few seconds a blank command prompt window will appear, which will disappear after about ten seconds and the Microsoft Store will open automatically.This means the cache was cleared successfully.
   

• Make sure you're using the Microsoft Store Install Service.
  

1. Services.msc can be found by pressing Windows Key + S and typing services.msc.
   
2. Locate and double-click the Microsoft Store Install Service; if the status is Running, right-click it and select Restart.
   
3. Change it to Automatic if it's disabled, then click Start and OK.
   

• Reinstall the Microsoft Store app
  

1. Press Windows key + X
   
   Click and Run Windows PowerShell(run as Administrator)Copy and paste the command below then hit Enter:
   
   

• Reinstall the Minecraft Launcher
  

1. Click Start >Settings >Apps，find "Minecraft Launcher" in all apps.
   
2. Click on the "Minecraft Launcher" Advanced options >Uninstall the application.
   
3. Open the Microsoft Store, search for "Minecraft Launcher", download and install it again, and log in to your account to see if it works.

New Minecraft Launcher Broken

I'm Kevin B., I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing right now, let me help you sort things out.

When did the issue started? Are there any recent changes made on the computer before the issue started?

It seems that the Minecraft Launcher that is pinned on the taskbar of your windows is redirecting you to the Microsoft Store when you try to open it.

Try to remove the pinned launcher on your taskbar and change it with the one located on your Start menu. The one which contains the right icon

Open the start menu and locate Minecraft Launcher

Right click on the Minecraft Launcher and select More

Select Pin to Taskbar

If the option is missing, try to remove the one that is currently pinned to taskbar and try to redo the steps again

This way, if the Minecraft Launcher pinned on the taskbar is broken or damaged, it will be replaced by a new one. Once the Minecraft launcher is pinned, try to open it and check if it shows the same issue
