Windows 10: Unable to sort folders by size

So this problem I can never recall occurring before has just happened to me. I am trying to sort somewhere around 1000 folders by size on an external drive. I right click the background of the folder and then select sort by/size. This doesn't seem to do anything at all and instead all of the file folders remain in alphabetical order. It doesn't matter how I choose to sort the folders it seems to be stuck on alphabetical order and is literally stopping me dead in my tracks. I don't know how to get around this. There are a handful of folders that contain a few extra files that they shouldn't and

Sorting files and folders by size

I tried to sort my SD card by size, and it made absolutely no sense. it reallocated all the files (not in a folder ) at the top, and the folder arrangements were not in size order, the first folder on the list were 6.62MB and the last were 632MB, but there
are folders with 15GB of content in between. if anyone knows anything about sorting out my view, please help me out here.

Second of all, it's so nice to see that this section ain't dead.

I have a few questions/suggestions, maybe you'd want to see ...

• maybe you rename Get Folder button caption to something more intuitive? Add Folder, Get Folder Size, Check Folder Size or something like that?
  
• Could you add subfolder files to the right pane? (it can be a tickbox with include sub dirs)
  
• maybe you also add export list to excel?
  
• there's delete file button maybe you add delete folder button too?
  
• and finally maybe you can add UP button for directories?

We understand you concern related to the size of the folder displayed. Try these steps to narrow down the issue:

1. Disable bitlocker
   and then check the folder size.
2. We would also suggest you to open the folder and select all files and see the size of the contents.

Let us know if the size of the contents matches the folder size. If you see a difference, then the folder might be showing incorrect size.
