Windows 10: Unable to Start the Windows Security. The Security Center services is also gone.

Hi,I think installed a virus in my computer and I am not able to remove it. There is this old game that I downloaded and install it in my computer. I followed the steps where I disabled the windows security and installed it in my computer.Then there is this popup command prompt that is running on 2.5GB RAM based on Task Manager. I immediately ended the task since I was concerned that this might break my computer.I tried to enabled the Windows Security again but to it is all black now.I tried several ways wherein I tried to reinstall the Windows Security but failed, or Repair through services

Windows 10 Security Center Service can't be started

I am also having a probem starting windows security center. When I did the following step: I found the following disabled:

Security center properties

Windows update properties

Security center WSCSV

Remote registry

net.tcp port sharing

internet connection sharing

COMODO LPS launcher

COMODO Internet security

Auto time zone update

Should these be enabled and if so how do I enable them?

I have no defense toward any threats at this time. Please help!!

Method 1: I suggest you to follow the steps provided below:

• Press Windows key + R on the keyboard.
• Type “Services.msc” without quotes and press Enter.
• Locate for Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Windows Management Instrumentation.
• Check whether the following services are Started and set to Automatic.

 

windows defender & security center services keep turning off


Are you running any other AV or did you have one running in the past? If you didn't use an uninstaller for the AV, then the remnants of it could be causing the problem. Normally any time you install an AV it disables Defender by default.

If you are getting any error codes please list those, that will be helpful in helping you.

As torre suggested, might be a good idea to do a reset or even a reinstall.

Security Center Service won't start

Hi,

The Security Center service is dependent on other services for it to be able to start properly. You can follow these steps to start the dependent services in the correct order:

• Click Start, type cmd, right-click on
  Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
• At the command prompt, run the following commands in the listed order:
  • Type sc start DCOMLaunch and press Enter.
  • Type sc start RpcSs and press Enter.
  • Type sc config Winmgmt start= auto and press Enter.
  • Type sc start Winmgmt and press Enter.
  • Type sc config Wscsvc start= auto and press Enter.
  • Type sc start wscsvc and press Enter.
• Close the command prompt window and try to start the Security Center
  service again.
